Algebraic Structures and Geometry

Our research interests include the following fields:

representation theory, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, homological algebra.

More specifically, we study

• Singularity categories
• Derived categories of singular varieties
• Derived categories of finite dimensional algebras
• Related structures and techniques like: semiorthogonal decompositions, noncommutative & categorical resolutions of singularities, cluster theory, quasi-hereditary algebras...

We have close links with the research group "Algebra and Number Theory" of Eleonore Faber - including a joint research seminar. Moreover, there are common research interests with research groups at Graz University of Technology, for example within the Graz School of Discrete Mathematics.

Our research is partially funded by the DFG-project Semiorthogonal decompositions of derived categories of singular varieties.
